This movie has dangerously high levels of octane. I truly believe that if Liam Neeson became any more badass, he would actually explode due to an overload of testosterone. Some of the moments in the movie were so unbelievable and awesome because of their incredibility. You believe, however, because it’s goddamn Liam Neeson. Some examples like Liam Neeson attempting to beat someone up with oxygen masks. Moments like these had potential to be classics like Jackie Chan using a ladder as a weapon. Unfortunately these often fall quite flat.
Speaking of unbelievability, the antagonist in this movie must be some sort of psychic. The amount of variables in the movie that could have tarnished this person’s plan is numerous. (Also, I have no idea what sort of mutant this guy is because he seemed to be able to type his texts at superhuman speeds!)
I think that this movie is vastly improved by watching the trailer and having a decent amount of knowledge about the movie’s story before watching (or having previously watched the movie would help). This is because, from the beginning you are profiling every single minute character that you see in the airport and the movie does well to trick you into thinking that you have it sussed when you definitely haven’t. While the true antagonist is unexpected it is not the most incredible twist ever witnessed in cinema.
‘Non-Stop’ is an action-packed adventure involving deceit, betrayal and most importantly… baddassery. I give ‘Non-Stop’ an 8/10 – Rather Entertaining
