This epic adventure really shows how dangerous space is and can be, despite how magnificent and spectacular people may perceive it to be. Sandra Bullock plays possibly the most under qualified astronaut ever sent into space and George Clooney plays himself in a spacesuit. Both the characters are exciting, likeable and relatable. This all culminates into one of the most entertaining movies of 2013. It is obvious when you are watching the movie that Sandra Bullock’s character, ‘Ryan Stone’, has been blasted out of her comfort zone (as any person would be in this situation). Nothing seems to go her way. Although, when these unfortunate catastrophes occur, they look incredible.
This is one of the few movies in which the 3D feels like it made the movie more enjoyable rather than making you wish you didn’t have grey plastic obstructing your vision. When things explode, (and believe me, things explode) you feel so immersed in the utter annihilation that you can’t help but say ‘woah!’
There is very little you can say to criticise this movie. There are no plot holes. (That being said, the movie takes place over about 3 or 4 hours, so plot holes would actually be quite difficult.) The acting was faultless and undeniably believable, while still retaining a level of originality that would entertain even the most cynical cynics.
‘Gravity’ is undoubtedly a sensation for the senses with stunning visuals, heavenly sounds and immersive special effects that make you feel like you are there with the likeable characters. I give ‘Gravity a 10/10 - ‘Perfect’
